  1. >Pope Leo has escalated his growing feud with the Trump administration, instructing U.S. bishops to take a stronger public stand against the president’s hardline immigration policies, according to Reuters.

Yeah, the Pope taking a stand against Trump’s grotesque immigration policies is a “feud.” Only Trump gets away with this type of media framing.

    >Leo’s reported remarks mark the latest—and most direct—intervention by the pontiff in U.S. domestic politics since his election in May to replace the late Pope Francis. While initially cautious, the pontiff has recently sharpened his criticism of President Donald Trump’s agenda, particularly on immigration and social policy.

    >Just last week, Leo, 70, publicly questioned whether the Trump administration’s anti-immigration measures were compatible with the Catholic Church’s pro-life principles—a comment that triggered sharp backlash from conservative U.S. Catholics and the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who was raised and educated in the faith but has more recently been seen worshipping at a non-denominational church.

    >Leavitt said she “would reject there was inhumane treatment of illegal immigrants in the United States under this administration.”

  3. Unfortunately most of the crazy religious right are part of this sort of scattershot of separatist Christian subsets, and a lot of them already outright hate Catholicism.

    Excellent.

All going to plan. Few people have the power to counter a rogue US government , the Catholic Church and the Pope does.

You go Pope Leo!!! You seem to be one of the only religious leaders in the world calling out America’s Republican Party for being anti-Christian, anti-American haters of God’s People!

In the 80s when raygoon and tv god salespeople took Faith from Christianity, replaced it with Satan’s christian RELIGION and brought it into the white house the world has not been the same.

While I agree with what he is trying to do, this is why I find religion so hypocritical. He is focusing on what is going on in America while he sits in Italy which is doing the exact same thing as trump (building more detention centers for illegals, increasing jail time for illegals and people who
Over stay their visas from 3 months to 18 months, lowering immigration numbers, higher requirements for work visas).

This world is going to shit because those in power are all corrupt hypocrites. It’s a damn shame.

  7. > A number of high-profile Trump administration officials are Catholic, including Leavitt,

Wait, that crazy fucking loon is a Catholic? And she’s picking Trump over the Pope? Fuckin’ wild. I wonder how many high school aged boys Trump promised her.

  8. American evangelicals don’t consider Catholics to be Christian anyway. My relatives still call them “papists”.

  9. If the entirety of power in the Catholic Church goes against this administration, it could be interesting to say the least.

“member of leadership of Christian sect recognizes that being kind to immigrants is the whole lesson of the nativity”

Truly scandalous, indeed, at least for evangelicals.

  11. It’s not like the Bible is even ambiguous about this. MAGA are all fake Christian’s who just pick and choose parts of the Bible that support their bigotry and racism, while completely ignoring its core teachings.

  12. I don’t think the Pope is in a ‘feud’ with anyone let alone Trump. Good job with the spin though, keep those MAGAs hating someone.

  13. Trump could punch this guy in the face and piss on the Sacrament and conservative Catholics would clap.

I love how the Pope has a feud with Trump just because the Pope follows the Bible and preaches to love immigrants. It’s simply ironic for Trump, a man who claims to be a man of faith.
