Trump absolutely wants this shut down. Not only for the reasons he’s naming but also so he doesn’t have to face accountability. Hundreds of thousands of people have been laid off from their jobs since the summer. Employers like Walmart have announced hiring freezes. The rate of inflation since his moronic tariffs announcement is alarming. We’re not headed towards a recession. The recession is here. With the government shut down the people who would normally report these numbers are at home lol. So Trump can dance in Malaysia and lie about what is actually happening in America. Trump is going to try to drag this bullshit out as long as possible.
