He’s going to run, the Dems will just raise their voice and debate as if it’s a regular election. The Republicans will fall in line…

I legitimately don’t understand why, just why is this one person. Seemingly allowed to do whatever the hell they want, and everyone just stands back and claps.

Most sane individuals would say, “Yes, I’d love to serve the American people again but can’t due to the Constitution. I’ll find my own way once out of office.”

  3. Pretend_Pea4636 on

For decades my father’s generation would shout about “The Constitution”. You know, those people driving around with bumper stickers saying, “We the People”. Trump has violated or threatened to violate 8 of the 10 Bill of Rights and silence. Their silence on Trump shows how performative their “values” were, and are. These are not people of substance or meaning.

  4. “These are the bounds which the trust that is put in them by the society and the law of God and Nature have set to the legislative power of every commonwealth, in all forms of government.

First: They are to govern by promulgated established laws, not to be varied in particular cases, but to have one rule for rich and poor, for the favourite at Court, and the countryman at plough.”

He’s going to run and I don’t expect anyone to stop him. I have very little faith in the democratic party and Trump will get a third term. They will rig the elections and the shit show will continue on

  6. >Latest polls put the MAGA president’s overall ratings hovering at a miserly 45 percent approval. That’s well below his all-time high of 49 percent at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, though it is significantly above the 34 percent he pulled in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, which he was later indicted for allegedly instigating.

This is the stupidest timeline, where independents and politically disconnected voters forgot about or forgave him for Jan6.

I just want to scream. How do you forgive an insurrection? How do you forget that it happened?

What the actual fuck fellow Americans?!!

  7. Why is this not a major headline on every news platform and calling a constitutional crisis?

    We all know why

  8. Jan 6th was proof of why you don’t underestimate stupid people in large groups, and everyone knows President Dipshit controls that mob. Nobody wants to get Mike Penced.

  9. He’s not going to live that long, but it doesn’t matter. The Republicans will nominate someone even worse, if we still have elections by then.

  10. You don’t destroy the east wing of the White House if you’re only going to be there for another 3 years. He is pushing the boundaries and seeing if anyone does anything. Actually, he already knows. The guy committed treason and he became president.

  11. Shouldn’t we have an explicit penalty for violating the 22nd amendment like we do for piracy and treason against the United States?

  12. FalseConsequence4319 on

These people don’t joke. They test what’s acceptable now and work towards what isn’t to make it so in the future.

  13. Oh but “he’s just trolling”.

Just like project 2025 isn’t a real thing.

Just like, they’re only arresting “illegals”  not citizens.

  14. He knows that if he leaves office he won’t have the legal immunity that comes with being president anymore and his legal woes will return. He’s already been convicted on 34 felonies before his current term.

  15. Trump saying he’d love to defy the Constitution is the least surprising development of the year.

  16. Trump loves money, underage girls, Russians and corruption.

You know what he doesn’t love?

    The United States of America

  17. Bishopjones2112 on

Can we please have the constitution loving republicans say something about this. Please. Say anything, support or oppose, just pick a side here.

  18. InterestingNarwhal7 on

Bot on the bright side, he’s old and unhealthy… AND OLD UNHEALTHY FOLKS LIVE FOREVER.

  19. RoutineVirtual4153 on

Of course he will. No one in America is doing anything to stop his disgusting and illegal activities now, why would they stop a third term?

  20. Well 6 supreme court justices already have trump 28 bumper stickers on their cars. But seriously does anyone really think that natural causes won’t kick in soon

  21. >But he also made it clear that if he did run again himself, there’s no chance he’d consider playing second fiddle. “Yeah, I’d be allowed to do that,” he said of a prospective vice presidential run. “I guess I think it’s too cute. Yeah, I would rule that out because it’s too cute. I think the people wouldn’t like that. It’s too cute. It’s not—it wouldn’t be right.”

And there it is, the denial. So he’s aware of the VP loophole*, that’s what they are going to try, and the SCOTUS will allow it. BTW, he wouldn’t let Vance run in this case, it will be Don Jr or Eric so that he can be 100% sure they’ll resign after being sworn in so that he ascends to the Presidency almost immediately.

**For those saying that he cannot run for VP, the wording of the 22nd and 12th Amendments have enough wiggle room that the Roberts Court is 97.2% likely to say it’s legal.*

  22. Let’s assume he does that. At what point is he stopped? At the primaries? As presidential candidate?  After being elected?

  23. otherwise_data on

of course he would and the stacked supremes would do their best to allow it. every single senator and congressperson who does not object to this should be immediately removed from office.

  24. Glum-Breadfruit-6421 on

He’s defying every other part of it, why the fuck wouldn’t he just continue? Nobody’s stopping him.

  25. “Run” for a third term?

No. Just stay and cancel all elections. He won’t even pretend to let you vote this time.
