    Minnesota….California funding food banks.

Let’s see what those red states come up with for their people.

EDIT: Colorado, New York and Louisiana(!) coming up with funds from their state.

  2. Good for him, but doing the math it is not going to go very far, so something else besides an emergency one-time funding needs to be waiting in the wings if the shutdown continues.

    >About 440,000 Minnesotans partake in those programs.

    About $9 per person.

It’s a shame this honest, caring man wasn’t put into a certain position of high federal power huh? Must be nice to still feel like your government works for you instead of corporations or bribery countries….

  4. You all probably know this but your local food banks are being overwhelmed. People are going hungry in your community.

  5. Please donate to your local food bank or pantry if you are in a position to do so. They can buy food cheaper than individual buyers can and our communities are going to be in historically terrible shape soon.

  6. Honestly, if you can, take care of your communities. The next month has a high chance of being very bad for a lot of people.

Even if they manage to restore federal funding to snap (considering Republicans refuse to meet with Democrats, I doubt it), more people are needing the food bank. Take care of your neighbors

  7. Meanwhile, corporations with vastly more money are funding the narcissist-in-chief’s stupid ballroom. Says volumes.

Meanwhile, Trump sent $40B to Argentina and is vowing to stop food stamps from going out to Americans.

  9. Im calling it now. The republicans are using this as a strategy but come october 31st or november 3rd they will magicalky come to save the day. If they dont come together on it there will be hell to pay

  10. It’ll all be stolen by the same people that did the other MN charity robberies. If he/administration ran a tight ship there would be no need for extra funds.

Any one of these POS billionaires could be funding the food banks in their state during this shutdown. Any one of them.

  12. This is the government doing something it’s supposed to do.

If you’re a law and order person, people with food do less crime. It’s so weird. Food security solves so many societal problems that conservatives want us to stop. Feeding people often works better than policing them.

  13. This isn’t fully on topic, but I love when people hear about raising taxes on the wealthy, and they just assume these wealthy/companies will pick up and leave. Meanwhile all daddy trump has to do is ask and billionaires and companies bend over backward to fund his projects. They absolutely can afford to do so, they just dont bitch and moan about doing it directly because they can get kick backs.

I mean, fuck it, fine. I’ll have healthcare sponsored by google and pornhub. Idc, just let people get what they need without going bankrupt.
