  1. In short, he’s saying we can’t use the emergency funding even though already appropriated by congress on an emergency.

So stupid. And the excuses are getting less and less believable as this drags on.

You can’t take $20 from your friend to help pay for a cookout if you don’t have a cookout with your friend. Give the money back.

This is another example of Republican lies and hypocrisy because they have made hundreds of millions of dollars “legally available” to suit their own agenda like hiring more ICE storm troopers and building concentration campes. The money could be available if they wanted to help people instead of funding the creation of an autocracy in America. The same goes for healthcare subsidies.

What infuriates me is the Republican talking point that these benefits are going to people who don’t deserve them.

SNAP isn’t about “people who don’t work.” It’s about people who don’t get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

    * Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

    * Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

  5. Huh? That’s strange,
There has been no shortage of mystery billionaires stepping in to fund the military and White House expansion but can’t seem to find one for snap.
I can’t seem to put my finger on why?

And the military R&D fund can be moved?

Oh yeah I forgot our military has been very obiedent and has been on their knee kissing our king feet

  7. So the evil Christian Mikey prefers to starve seniors and children. Satan probably has a nice scorching place for him in the afterlife.

  8. If that $40 billion for Argentina stayed where it’s supposed to be and redistributed through SNAP. It would mean $1000 per person for SNAP beneficiaries.

  9. “Legally?” Since when are these traitors worried about that? Flood the zone, Johnson. Make it happen!

You know how you can tell that he’s lying? His lips are moving.

They can pay, and are supposed to pay. They just want to harm Americans.

  11. “Whoa, whoa, use money to feed people? Might be illegal.” But accepting 130 million from Donald Trump’s friend to effectively bribe the armed forces during the shutdown? Totally okay.

  12. I’m going to need these headlines to start explicitly calling these out as lies. Too many Americans don’t care to read past the headlines and the media is normalizing insanity. “Johnson lies, claims SNAP contingency funds not legally available. They are.”

  13. Oh, now you want to follow the law…

This is just a desperate attempt to get Democrats to give up. They’re trying to use people starving to win a political fight – it’s not good enough to take people’s healthcare, let’s make em starve too, so we can mark a tally on our “we won” board. This is appalling

  14. Only time shit is illegal is when they don’t want to help people. Other than that laws don’t matter.

  15. RadiantMaestro on

Don’t they control both houses? Can’t they just vote more funding on this? Democrats won’t object.

  16. So, Johnson’s goal here is to make sure the American people are both heavily armed, and also starving. Bold plan.

GTFO. Money for Argentina and Ballroom but not hungry kids?

Come on Republicans, you are shameful for supporting this clown.

  18. Duna_The_Lionboy on

But Mike, you’re not in charge of the government…so why are you making decisions about this?

  19. OkWolverine69420 on

Despite the obvious lie here, it’s very telling that they all of a sudden give a shit about the legality of something when it comes to poor people getting benefits. They haven’t given a single fuck about the illegal shit Trump is doing, and will continue to enable him no matter what at every turn.

And then these people try to claim they are Christians. Unreal.
