They’re hoping that by hurting 42 million Americans they’ll be able to force the centrist Democrats to end the shutdown. Starve the children, elderly, veterans and active duty military families just to make orange man feel good.

The whole thing is pretty transparent on its face. The democrats have one ask – keep the healthcare subsidies. Republicans decided that shutting down the government is better than agreeing to the subsidies. In others words, the Republicans dont care if health insurance costs go up! They have already admitted that they have no alternative for it, meaning they want to cut them for good, end of story. If they wanted them, it wouldn’t be a problem to put it in the bill. They are perfectly fine closing the government and sharing blame because what they really want is to eliminate ALL of these programs, but it would be extremely unpopular to admit it.
So no pause on tariffs but also no benefits that are supposedly being paid for by those tariffs. Cool, makes plenty of sense.

Says Man who wants to let healthcare companies charge you 10x more for what is a basic right everywhere else and is allowing tens of millions to potentially starve as a power play to achieve his goal.
There is existing law that says that during a government shutdown snap is to continued to be funded by the emergency reserve that was established for it under law, and the agency (the executive branch) is ignoring that law. It is not up to Mike or the congress, it is up to the agency to follow the law and fund snap from the emergency fund and they are not.
You have to pay the military if you are going to use them to police your citizens. Feeding them? Thats on them. Trump nor his administration give a care about Americans, unless their wealth exceeds $999,000,000

The Speaker of the House is singlehandedly preventing speech and debate by keeping the House in recess. The government can not re-open until he ends the recess. Mike Johnson is the person preventing a resolution. Democrats have nothing to do with that whatsoever.
