If any Republican tries to tell you Dems are to blame for this, just look at who’s being sued.

judge: “you’re not allowed to let poor people starve”

    gop: “oh shucks!”

So how this plays out will be interesting.

Does TheRump and Micky Mouse Johnson, directly defy a Federal ruling?

If the payments are still halted, no blaming of this on the Dems will work.

  4. 👏👏👏 glad to see this. I know the emergency fund isn’t enough to cover the loss for the entire month— but something is better than nothing.

    > The lawyer, Tyler Becker, also argued it was the administration’s discretion whether to use $6 billion in contingency funds already set aside by Congress to continue issuing SNAP benefits.

Oh so they admit it was the Trump Admin who decided to not fund SNAP. Good — glad we got that on record

did the trump admin again say the quiet part out loud?

    >A Justice department lawyer argued during a hearing that the **SNAP program did not exist anymore** because there were no congressionally appropriated funds for it as a result of the shutdown.

  6. I don’t see anyone in this administration or in this congress complying with the order. The constitution failed to give the courts any kind of military capacity to enforce its rulings,

  7. Let’s see them appeal it. I don’t think that will work for them. What judge is going to allow people to starve.

  8. > The lawyer, Tyler Becker, also argued it was **the administration’s discretion whether to use $6 billion** in contingency funds already set aside by Congress to continue issuing SNAP benefits.

The Trump administration’s lawyer went before a judge and said that the reason they’re not going to be funded is because the administration is choosing not to.

Say it louder for the people in the back!

Trump has already begun deporting American citizens, starving the poor is a political move.

  10. They literally have money appropriated for this kind of situation and the trump admin is refusing to use it. The gop is just willingly going to starve American people. Cruelty is the point.

  11. 98% i’m glad this got fixed

2% i’m sad, because i thought this outrage was what would finally end him

  12. And when he doesn’t comply, an appeals court will declare he can starve people “for now”, then the SCOTUS will declare via shadow docket that he can do whatever he wants. Again.

Miller and Vought will never release funds for SNAP benefits. They would rather hurt people.

Is there where the administration tells everyone that they have been paying executive employees out of this fund?

How many MAGA states joined this lawsuit ?

Maybe MAGA will decide to boycott their SNAP benefits and own the libs.

  16. SNAP was previously paid out during other shutdowns.

If the states front the money, the Feds say they won’t reimburse them once CR is passed.

If they appeal this decision, they might as well just say that they hate the poor.

Attempting to starve citizens when there were significant funds meant specifically for this and others easily assessable will go down as one of the most shameful acts by any administration in American history.
