There are no rules. How many laws has MAGA bent, broken and/or ignored in the decade long reign of terror?

It’s really important that this measure passes. If it does, other states will probably follow California’s lead and actually start to fight back.
It has to start somewhere.

It’s sad that it’s come to this, but if one side fights dirty there’s no sense in playing by the rules. The whole system needs an overhaul though, it’s a mess.

They started to ignore rules in 2000. Then ripped up the book in his first term, And burned the rule book on Jan 6th.
It’s all too late. I simply cannot see how you get through this? Certainly, there is no going back.

Go Cali! This bully needs to be stood up to.

National divorce by 2028 probably. I don’t see how this republic survives the next 5-10 years

Nothing wrong with leveling the playing field…..especially with fascism standing and staring at us in our front yards.

Gotta say the vibes here in California are dismal. The No on 50 campaign is pretty savvy essentially branding 50 as a gerrymandering effort. One local sign says “No Kings, No on 50”
In the meantime, as usual, my local DNC office is hard to reach and isn’t providing any signs or a counter narrative.

As an Ohioan, I’ve seen how detrimental gerrymandering is. We are an almost 50/50 state with almost no Democratic representation. That being said, I understand why California needs to do this at this point.
Maybe one day we can fight for fair maps again. Unfortunately states like mine make it extremely difficult to do so at this time. I have a soft spot for California as I lived there for a few years and my husband and his family are from there, so good luck.

I did my part! Turned my ballot in early and it’s already been recorded in the system per ballot tracking.
Cmon California. They make this so easy. Everybody gets mailed a ballot and a booklet.

Early Numbers sound pretty good. The recall was huge turnout
“More than 5.9 million ballots have been returned so far in California’s special election to either approve or reject Proposition 50, according to a data firm used by political campaigns.
A Saturday release from data firm Political Data Inc. stated that 26% of ballots sent out to California voters have already been returned from Oct. 6 to Oct. 31. Overall, nearly 23 million ballots were mailed to registered voters.
Earlier this month, the firm said the voter turnout rate at the time was “close to recall election numbers,” in a reference to the 2021 vote over whether to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom.”

The polls look good.

Take 30 seats from Republicans since they think they can do this in every state. Fuck em
They have never played by the rules. They stacked the supreme courts with bias judges and have relied on redistricting to keep their Satan party alive
Should never have let them be the ones to change the rules. Dems are always playing catchup.
