Last year I was welding for 25$/hr at this place that made industrial dryers.. inch and a half thick steel cylinder 12 feet in diameter 70 ft long.. in the summer it was 120+ degrees inside.. 12hr shifts people falling out weekly.. highest turnover I’ve ever seen. The safety culture there was not just nonexistent it was actively toxic… needless to say I quit after 6 months went back to tree work.
