Religion is the problem, not the solution. It's time we had a difficult conversation in this country about the place of religion. Australia is a secular country and all religions should be public and officially treated as equally false. Religious beliefs don't automatically command respect. The rules of engagement should be the same as other incredibly personal things. Do it in private and keep it to yourself and keep away from children. At least, for a start, let's get rid of prayers in Parliament.

Sorry, am I missing something? Christmas is a Christian holy day. Why such an extreme reaction to a Church leader giving a message? No one is forcing you to participate in the festivities my friend.
Calm down krampus
Christmas is a Christian holiday of course church leaders will say something. Yes we are secular secularism is neutral on religion not anti or pro
Australia is not a secular country, it’s a pluralist country. Meaning no single social, political or religious ideology is allowed to exclude others – including secularism.
Merry Christmas to you and God bless.
Cringe take
I say this as a devout atheist, secular doesn’t mean religion is treated as false, only that it is irrelevant in these very specific areas of public life.
Secularism is not the same thing as atheism.
I say this as an atheist: get your head out of your arse.
What the hell do you mean “do it in private”? So you’re allowed to profess your disbelief (itself a belief) publicly, but nobody else can?
