  1. ‘The prime minister said the UK should consider “even closer alignment” with the single market. “If it’s in our national interest … then we should consider that, we should go that far,” he told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg.’

    So that headline is based on the journalist’s dreams then. He announced and committed to nothing. As per their 2024 election manifesto it isn’t happening.

  2. It makes no sense to have the EU within 22 miles of us and try to pursue an isolationist economic policy against them. Long overdue.

    But Uncle Nigel wants to move to the other side of the pond for support? Who will fund Nigel’s self funded retirement project? Certainly not the EU. lol

    Back in 2016 Johnson wrote of the EU: “This is a market on our doorstep,
    ready for further exploitation by British firms. The membership fee
    seems rather small for all that access. Why are we so determined to turn
    our back on it?”

    Too fckin right given what happened yesterday. Parliament needs to re look at EU/single market membership.
