> BBC Wales has yet to make a decision on whether Nigel Farage, who will not be a candidate in the Senedd election, should be allowed to represent the party in televised leader debates during the campaign. Opponents of Reform argue that the party is a personality cult built around Mr Farage and that it doesn’t have a potential First Minister candidate with anywhere near the same charisma or debating skills as him.
> ITV Wales has already decided that Mr Farage, as a non-candidate, would not be permitted to take part in any debates that it screens.
BBC will have to work very hard to find an excuse why they allow Farage to represent Reform in the debates if they decide to do so.

Surely as their most senior elected person in Wales Laura Anne Jones should be doing it or are they worried she will have another case of foot in mouth?

They don’t want a repeat of Caerphilly. They will definitely lose the vote if they put some random chinless wonder up there that isn’t Nigel Farage.
Easy to debate like Farage though. Aggressively make populist promises you can’t possible keep whilst vehemently denying any accusations levelled against you. Every other point should be able how the establishment is trying to shut you down. Farage 101.

Who cares, it’s a radio debate. I’d be interested on what listening figures they get for this.

It’s a bit weird that Reform are asking people to vote for a leader in Wales but they won’t have this leader really do anything.
They aren’t voting for Farage, Farage isn’t running, so it’s a bit odd isn’t it?
Imagine if Labour put up say Blair to debate for them. It would be quite odd, no?
