This is really random but I’ve had these two magpies stop by my house pretty much everyday for the last month and I’m really curious to know what gender they are. I tried to research and now I’m certain that they’re juveniles based on the lighter feather colours and eye colours and the fact they seem to always be travelling around together. I now also know that them being juveniles can possibly mean it’s too soon to know their genders but I thought it just ask and see if anyone could tell

The females are grey and black, the males white and black, or so I am led to believe.
They’re birds mate.
Ask the magpie subreddit.
Did you just assume their gender ??
Does it matter. Just call them Maggie, it’s short for Magnificent
Male Maggie’s have a white hood on the back of their head/neck, females have a dusty, ashy grey hood.
These two are juveniles, hence the grey. When they are adult (about year 2, the males will have a bright white nape, the females a slighly grey nape).
I’m assuming they’re around preschool age
Juveniles
They definitely are male or female.

They look juvenile to me, but I have a crappy phone.

Yes
They are both juveniles.

My wife is an amateur birdwatcher and she says she can’t tell exactly because of the angle but it looks like a female on the left
