Its very easy to talk about a Labour Coup its an order of magnitude harder to actually remove a Labour PM so unless he actually resigns I suspect he will be PM at the next GE.

People are dumb and expect everything to change 5 mins into a new government. When this doesn’t happen, they want to switch to the conman that promises everything WILL get fixed within 5 mins.
It’s going to take DECADES to undo the damage Tories did to the UK.

I don’t really see Labour MPs kicking Starmer out. He’s more likely to quit.

I wonder if I could stop getting fired from my job just by saying it would be bad for everyone else if I got fired?
BoJo and Sunak both did this too, I think… ‘if you fire me for doing a terrible job, bad things will happen.’
Love how they also all use the ‘the last thing Britain wants is another general election.’ Each time they are told to sling their hooks.
Make no mistake, I can’t stand the Tories, but I rarely see any other politician who’s not just looking for a way to secure themselves something these days…
I swear, the last person that went into parliament with good intentions was Guy Fawkes.

“Fire me and terrible things will happen” sounds exactly like something a person legitimately afraid of being fired would say.

I don’t care about left vs right as much as I do authoritarian vs libertarian, and cannot stand how authoritarian this government is. Not that the tories or reform would be any better but I’ve never felt as much dislike towards a government as i do with this one.

Maybe him and Morgan McSweeney shouldn’t have started a coup against the Labour left themselves then? If you cheat your way to the top, don’t be surprised when the next person comes along and stabs you in the back

I’ve found that best way of predicting when a political figure will resign is when they start making statements saying that they won’t resign.

Starmer will still be PM at the next election in 2029, and probably after the election. I mean, look at the alternatives – Nope…

If he does resign/quit/whatever, who would we have instead as PM? I assume there would be some kind of selection. I just hope it isn’t that prick Streeting honestly.

He may not be doing the best job, but it’s also not the worst job. And he’s not wrong on this one.

Even if it were true you don’t need a focus group to know that’s an extremely stupid thing to say. Just makes you look pathetic/desperate.
What did running on a campaign of “I’m not Donald Trump” do for Harris? Jack poop. It’s the same thing. Running on not being your opponents is a terrible strategy.

Like it’s not been chaos already! We need chaos if that’s what it will take to have someone competent in the government to lead.

This country has become addicted to chaos. Starmer and Labour remaining in post until the next election (and hopefully winning it) is almost as important as the work Labour is doing to turn things around. After 14 years of Tory psychodrama and their destructive and corrupt behaviour, this country needs stability for the next decade. And only Starmer and Labour can provide that.

Perhaps lets consider what would happen if Labour actually revolted and removed him instead of getting upset over a headline.
Time being spent actually trying to enact policy would be wasted on a leadership campaigns which inherently will draw lines between sections of the party where members fight with each other on laws and acts being voted on in parliament. I’d call that pretty chaotic.
Who would they even be looking towards as a likely replacement?

Things aren’t complicated and things can be fixed in weeks if they really wanted to. Just see how quickly things are done during war time.
The truth is they don’t want to fix things. This refers to both the Tories and Labour.

Even ousting Starmer we should not just expect a GE and Farage.
The tories got to have as many PMs as they liked through their terms in office, why are labour expected to play by different rules?

I think the UK would be better for Sir Keir in the back benches where he can reflect on how he made the Labour Party into the Tory Lite Party

Yeah all the good hes done while being the pm in waiting for 3 years prior to taking office will be thrown in chaos if hes ousted. His list of pre planned and already achieved goals are…… internet oversight and monitoring, arresting twitter edgelords, inviting litteral terrorists to the uk, pointing out farage bad, sending 11 in and out of france while 8 arrived back and…. Yup thats about it. absolute chaos.
