  1. This feels like an obvious conclusion. For many people the challenge is not losing weight, it’s losing weight and keeping it off when you’re no longer actively on your weight loss regimen (whether that’s a diet, drugs, or whatever).

These injections clearly help with the weight loss part, but they do nothing to help people adjust their lifestyles to keep the weight off.

These medications are not cures. They are treatments for metabolic disorders. Like blood pressure medicine, if you stop taking it, they stop working and pressure goes up. They are not meant to be stopped.

  3. They are meant to help people get the weight down so they can move around easier and get into exercise.

Helps show people who have been overweight for a long time the massive benefits from not carrying around all the extra weight.

Wont stop everyone from going back to their old ways but will change some peoples habits for the rest of their lifes.

  4. Yes because they never worked on their eating habits and went back to stuffing their faces with junk.

I’ve only gained 2kg since quitting a year ago.

    Obviously.

If you live a lifestyle that results in you being overweight unless you take a drug, if you stop taking that drug you’ll be over weight.

  6. I personally think the longer term effects will be much worse. If I had to hazard a guess I’d assume a big increase in risk of osteoporosis.

The BBC must have shares in whoever makes these things – in the last few months I’ve lost count of the number of times “You and Yours” has plugged them and emphaisised how effective they are, how great they make folk feel, how much benefit to the health service, heck even today they’re running a program about them at 12:30

  8. That’s pretty obvious, they’ll also have whatever long term issues come from taking the injections.

    Eat less junk, move more.

That’s why I don’t plan on coming off until I’ve addressed my issues and/or a cheaper maintenance tablet form becomes available.

I really love being on mounjaro and not having the “food noise” and no longer having the urge to snack.
