Considering the most polite way to decline the offer.

Decline and the US can slap us with some random tariff.

Australia should accept Trump’s offer. The fact that Trump is inviting us to this shows that we have a very strong relationship and trust of the United States and that’s a good thing.
I think’s it’s reasonable to say that it’s in Australia’s best interests to join the United States and play a part in building a new, terror-free, peaceful State of Palestine that coexists with Israel through proper diplomatic relations.
It would be very unwise of Labor to decline this. It’s quite a golden opportunity.

For $1bn we better get access to the golf club and tennis court at Mar-a-Gaza!
Seriously though turn down the offer but say Australia will commit $1bn for reconstruction. We don’t want to be involved in the quagmire of Middle East politics but nor do we want to seem rude to a major trading partner, this keeps us out of the game.

The whole point of this is to have an international body rubber stamp and legitimise US policies and actions if and when the UNSC won’t. USA will maintain a veto over the board. It’s literally designed to bypass and replace/negate the UN.

I don’t trust the dude not to take 1 billion from a bunch of countries and then forget about it in 2 weeks!

Anyone want to bet $100 on what Albo does? You can make this bet and it’s not even gambling. But I’m sure “if” we join, we’ll definitely stand up for our beliefs… Yes siree Bob, standing up for stuff is what we do best.

Netanyahu rejects Trump’s ‘board of peace’ plan. LOL Trump and Bibi are feuding over who can annex Gaza.
*The so-called “Board of Peace” will include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, former British prime minister Tony Blair and Mr Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.*

Yeah, the more reasonable people are part of that board, the better.
Absolutely not. Supporting the orange turd in undermining the UN is the last thing we should do as a country.
