You can get them to wave all of it. You just gotta be a proper cunt to them on their web chat. I would normally advise against such practises but the poor person on the other end will live to see another day, Karen’s are a tool that can be used for good, albeit rarely.

I had the same issue, might not have closed the loop hole, but I was able to change it to a monthly plan and then cancelled that.

Affinity Photo (Canva) is the answer. It’s not a Lightroom replacement but its does everything Photoshop does and it’s truly free. Adobe is dead to me.

I got caught by this too. Digged deeper and realised the option to pay month to month is there but realllllly hidden. They advertise $x monthly but in the fine print it’s actually an annual commitment and if you want to cancel you have to pay out the rest of the year
