  1. Aside from a little favour with Trump there’s nothing Starmer or any other world leader stands to gain from joining this cash-for-access club centred.

But rejecting the invite comes with its own possible consequences, as we saw from his threat of 200% tariffs on France coupled with personal attacks on Macron, who had refused.

I do hope Starmer has enough of a sense of self-respect to turn him down. Or at least kick it into the long grass until Trump forgets about it or stops pushing for it.

  2. £1 Billion fee to be part of the club, get to sit next to Putin and make small talk no one knows where the money is going and Trump has the only Veto. Sounds like a great idea not sure why Starmer is not interested I am sure The Donald will talk him and Macron round in the end.

Why is that the concerning bit? trump is setting up a rival UN where he’s president for life, you pay HIM a billion dollars and he decides what to do next. It’s bond level villainy – whether or not Putin is in the room isn’t the issue!

“Starmer mulls it over”. – Blair ‘snaps his hand off’.

Anthony is on that board is he not?

  5. Starmer can’t afford politically to accept that offer, especially with France, Sweden, Norway (and likely more to come) all rejecting it.

I know he’s known for making unpopular decisions and backtracking, but it’d be too dumb for even Starmer to accept. I hope I don’t eat my words…

Does Putin know much about peace? It would be hypocritical to tell Israel and Hamas to stop fighting when he’s had his special military operation going for nearly four years.

Putin isn’t the concern anymore. Donald Trump is the concern. He’s a direct threat to The King.
