There is a war on cash. Have you noticed? People that use cash are subject to suspicion. They also risk being “debanked” (ask me how I know). There will not be a return to the $500 note short of hyperinflation. Come to think of it, they may just decide not to print them in the event of hyperinflation. That would be a perfect time to introduce mandatory Central Bank Digital Currencies.
