A free trade agreement is no better than TPP or NAFTA. European jobs are going to get shipped overseas even more.
DJT is right to say that the euros won’t have a civilization soon if they keep this up. Low birth rates, 30 hour work weeks, retirement at 62… The work to pensioner ratio will be at all time lows.
Mind you, blanket tariffs are stupid. But offshoring hurt America and you all know it. It used the be you could buy a shovel or a stapler or a piece of furniture made in the United States, and it would last you a lifetime. Now it’s all made in Mexico or China and it falls apart. Targeted tariffs on shovels and staplers would have kept the manufacturing in the USA and it would have kept the quality high.
Britain is just the furthest along in the destruction of European dignity. In 15 years Germany will be in the same place, wondering where all their wealth went as India is ascendant.
