Ukraine needs something real, not just promises, especially if they’re going to give up one of their major agricultural regions to an aggressive Russia, making them weaker and Russia even stronger.

With the US out of the picture, the EU portion of NATO will step into the gap. At which point will come the long-overdue liberation of the Crimean Peninsula.
