President Donald Trump said he did not think the value of the US dollar had declined too much, saying it was “doing great” and he expected currency values to fluctuate.

“No, I think it’s great,” Trump told reporters in Iowa on Tuesday when asked if he was worried about losses in the dollar that have dragged the world’s premier reserve currency to its weakest level in nearly four years. “I think the value of the dollar — look at the business we’re doing. The dollar’s doing great.”

“I want it to be — just seek its own level, which is the fair thing to do,” Trump added.

  1. He’s inflating away his massive additions to the debt while punishing imports.

    Walmart, he’s coming after you.

  2. People abroad are watching their US treasuries melt away in local currency. Off 11% this past year.

  3. Why would he be concerned when he is used to being responsible for the decline of many things?

  4. Is he hoping that exports would benefit from a weaker dollar and that multinational companies would look better in their earnings?

One hell of a bet, and I hate it

  5. A weak dollar is part of the plan. Don’t believe me? Read the manifesto by Stephen Miran, Trump’s former chief economic advisor who Trump promoted to the Feds. If they have their way, the dollar will go much lower. They will have their way because they control the Executive branch and the Feds (soon). This is just the beginning of the decline.

  6. Yeah no shit. In his eyes it’s a good thing because no one will buy American manufactured products unless they are cheap.

Can’t say I agree with his philosophy, but it certainly is an intention and not a side effect from this admin.

“He who has the power to destroy something has power over that thing.”

  9. This was all in the project 2025 documents. They want us broke so they can buy up everything. Stop shopping. Starve the greedy pigs!

My portfolio has gotten larger because I started following the bad news as a buying opportunity. Kinda like what he’s doing for all his other buddies
