I’m wondering about the disbanding thing . Say it was disbanded , or those “agents” with the 47 days of training are let go – are they going to take away all those fancy weapons from them? Are they going to let them hang on to the military grade gear “just in case” they are needed to be called back for “special actions”?

Once an agency gets so toxic, it’s leadership infiltrated by hardliners and loyalists that have now lost public trust, it’s hard to win it back with a PR campaign. I don’t think any American will see an ICE vehicle now and think of a law-abiding agency that has the public good and our laws in mind.
That’s very sad for an agency that is very important for our national security. They’ve painted themselves into a space where defending them is anathema to many of us.
Defund, disband and refound ICE as an agency that is built on respecting our laws and serving public interest.

Also all agents should likewise be banned from any law enforcement role or any job that includes handling of fire arms.
