Just on this does anyone else see nearly an argument against us remaining a constitutional monarchy if political party leaders are answerable to someone else who is in effect a shadow president of the country? Like here there is no doubt Abbott will be giving Taylor orders when he becomes leader but Abbott isn’t accountable to anyone – similar I guess is the trade union movement with Labor. Idk – seems like a pretty good argument can be made

There’s some good insights in this piece but geez stylistically it’s a real ramble, really needed one last tighter edit (to get rid of all the asides) to make it better for the reader (like you and me).
