    I disagree with this, someone that’s made one serious mistake should be considered differently to someone that’s been bad all their adult lives. Each case deserves to be heard on its merits, including any relevant information that could influence sentencing.

    Just shits and giggles

    Should be allowed 3 good character references for first offences and each new offence you are allowed one less references. Also having the same references multiple times would look bad compared it getting new ones every time.

    I remember the days when business men and politicians would front up to court and five glowing character references to the hardest of crims.
