  1. Now why would you do that man. Just get some glue eating sailor to put a wrench in the engine box.

  2. Context:

A second Iranian warship (IRIS Bushehr) is moving towards Sri Lanka territorial waters seeking safe refuge. They’re trying to negotiate with Sri Lankan authorities to dock/port and for them to take control of the ship and its crew. IRIS Bushehr was already in the region when the conflict ignited, likely supporting an earlier international naval exercise hosted by India (MILAN 2026).

    Edit:

Sri Lankan authorities confirm they have taken control of the IRIS Bushehr and its crew for “safekeeping”

  3. Why would any country confirm a ship’s location or heading?

Edit: Understood. Thanks to all for the clarification.

Best move the captain could make to surrender to Sri Lanka to save the lives of their sailors.

Sailing out in international waters would be a death trap, since the warship would be a legitimate military target and get bonked so quickly.

  5. This is a commander that deserves a lot of respect. He’s saved a lot of lives. You don’t always get that from commanders. Good for them and good for their families.

I give it a week. Then that ship becomes coral reef courtesy of the US. (Unless Iran does the required sucking up to Trump by rolling over, exposing it’s belly and showing how tame it can be. Or unless the captain and crew just dock the ship, leave it to the Sri Lankans and never go back. Then the ship might survive.)

Does anyone know: If the war ends up lasting a long time does the crew return to Iran or would they stay in Sri Lanka? Would they be able to move about Sri Lanka or would they be confined to the ship/port they are in?
