The problem with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz was well known for a long time but Trumpie acted on his “gut” feelings, with some help from Netanyahoo. In Trump’s first term there were adults in the room supervising his more idiotic inclinations but this term, Project 2025 was all about letting Trump be Trump. Well, they got what they asked for but unfortunately the rest of the world got it too.
