You know if any of the Presidents/national security advisors of the last 5 decades had an ounce of common sense, they would have just strong-armed Cuba into only trading with the US and its partners instead of trying and failing to starve the Castros to death for 3 generations. Like, Russia and China are quite literally as far from Cuba as they could possibly be, you could make the trade deal as unfair to Cuba as you want and they would still take it out of necessity.
But no, because Communism is bad, that means that we have to… Force the Communists to enrich our enemies? That makes sense.
