ABC journalists and staff will go on strike this Wednesday after 60 per cent voted against the broadcaster’s latest pay offer.

  1. So I guess that means random replays on the News channel and at 7pm on the main channel on Wednesday unless something requires an “emergancy broadcast”.

  2. Employees declined a below CPI wage offer. Of course the wage offer was below CPI. Can’t have public sector staff keeping neutral real wages.

  3. I used to be a defender of the ABC, but honestly, at this point, I think it should be shut down.

    The whole point of a public broadcaster was to have a neutral source of news, but the newsroom is 95% left-leaning, and the story selection and article bias reflects that.

    We already have plenty of partisan left news outlets, we don’t need to waste public money on another one,

    If we’re not yet ready to shut it down, then we need to at least ask serious questions about why it needs 4,500 staff, when The Guardian Australia has less than 200 and often seems to do a better job.

  4. Where will we get our hamas propaganda from now? Hopefully the guardian doesnt go on strike too. That would be awful.
