One way of looking at thew result is to note that thousands of South Australians preferred Pauline Hanson to Ashton Hurn.
From the LNP point of view that would be the scariest.
Ashton Hurn had zero cut through.
The liberal party needs to do something & do it well. Maybe quotas for females? Maybe talk to a few Teals? Maybe . . . ?

Ah right, internal party constitution, not state or commonwealth constitution.

Dying party bro, the Coalition is so so washed, these losers need to realise no one likes the Liberals anymore and that their brand is done

Downer was last in government almost 20 years ago; Pyne 7 years ago. I think it’s fair to say both have contributed to the foundational rot now obvious in the Liberal party (both statewide and federal), and are hardly the hallowed voices of resurrection or rebirth.
I mean, if Downer had his way, his daughter Georgina would be in Canberra right this instant. Not exactly the new blood needed.
