There are a few different gas companies in Australia. They are Australian owned, on the ASX, owned by most Redditors through there Superannuation schemes.
I own small parcels of shares in these companies. I can assure you that they are not making huge profits in large part due to the massive taxes they pay.
This is unlike renewables. They are privately held mainly by foriegn companies. They pay no tax and receive huge subsidies, which go back to the foriegn owners. To my knowledge you cannot buy shares in renewables companies.
