  1. I know there are back-end things going on, ie. Europe Free Trade agreement and the Energy Security deal with Singapore – but it still seems so tepid to be basing any public policy on this emergency on ‘please do the right thing’.

We can’t just ask people nicely to not participate in the Tragedy of the Commons. This panic is being *fuelled* by the media chasing clickbait over societal good and price gouging from suppliers (beyond increases in cost from the supply disruption). The Government’s ‘everything is fine, stay calm’ rhetoric falls flat given a good half+ of Australians don’t trust major parties anymore.

I get it though, I don’t think the Government could do much in this environment. It just makes me weep for the wasted opportunities to tackle price gouging or media influence over the last two decades. We kicked the can down the road and one of these days we’ll hit a dead end.

Cookers right again lmao. Well done to all the folks who panic purchased. Remember this is an absolute failure of our government. While the orange man did the thing in Iran it’s on our government to have us so utterly dependent on the constant, uninterrupted flow of black sludge from one of the most war torn regions on earth, including a bonus straight that can be easily controlled by an extremist theocratic dictatorship.

We could be energy independent and living life happily now. Panic buyers are a product of government failures, not the cause of our problems.

I am not convinced the Government is being honest about panic purchasing. I haven’t see it happening apart from some select social media examples. What is Albo and Bowen actually fucking doing apart from talking and shifting responsibility to the states?
