>“Australia is gravely concerned at the expansion of the conflict in Lebanon, the loss of life and displacement of more than one million civilians,” she said on Wednesday.
>“We discussed Hezbollah’s continued strikes on Israel and agreed they must disarm in line with previous agreements.
>“Australia supports Lebanon’s sovereignty – so we do not want to see occupation of southern Lebanon by Israel.”
Given the recent actions of the Albanese Government, I’m finding this hard to take any more seriously than the wiltiest of lettuce leaves and I’m pretty sure the Israeli FM and Defence Minister are completely ignoring us.
Israel has occupied another recognised state in the name of “border security” – which will probably have Channel 7’s lawyers coming after them. This isn’t even the first time they’ve done it. When Assad fell in Syria, the IDF were up ~~annexing~~ securing territory almost immediately.
>The Guardian reported Israel’s defence minister, Israel Katz, said Israeli forces would “control the remaining bridges and the security zone up to the Litani” – a river that meets the Mediterranean about 30km north of Israel’s border.
Ooh better be careful saying that sort of shit or QPol will be after you mate.

Compare and contrast:
>We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, extending to its territorial waters. We reiterate our strongest condemnation of Russia’s aggression and its attempts to acquire Ukraine’s territory by force in flagrant violation of international law, including the UN Charter. We firmly and unequivocally reject, do not and will never recognize the attempted illegal annexation by Russia of Ukraine’s regions of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.

So are the government going to do anything to back up those words?
Traditionally, the response to military incursions has involved sanctions against the aggressor.

>It is understood Wong and Sa’ar also discussed a number of other issues likely to fan lingering tensions between Australia and Israel.
I could not care less about our relations with Israel at this point. I see absolutely no benefit for Australia to have a relationship with that warmongering nation. Not economically and absolutely not morally. Not even for ‘social cohesion’ with Herzog’s visit leaving chaos in its wake across the country
Israel’s “security zone” is the exact same as Russia’s “special military operation”.

Ooh. More concern. No consequences. Bullshittery – ostracize Israel. They are a rogue state.

While continuing to offer the intel/recon plane to the US and Israel to do the thing she is raising her eyebrows about, that is raising petrol prices and causing logistics shocks across most industries. She just needs to add a wink. Of course the opposition and one nation are worse. It doesn’t excuse Wong and the ALP completely spineless, pathetic pantomime. Get rid of all of them. Vote greens everywhere..

If we [fixed UNIFIL](https://mei.edu/publication/unifil-should-reset-or-go-home/) we wouldn’t have this problem.
