Now, I'm not sure how you feel, but I am counting down the days until the morning drills take a break.
I am a mum, and I long for the school holidays as much as my kids do.
My morning is demanding
1) Argue why I wake them so early
2) Check the bags for all the school materials and the laptop
3) make breakfast
4) pack lunch
5) help find socks — they are always somewhere else
6) checking the time to be on time for drop off
And yes, they could do all that by themselves, but they do not.
So I have worked hard to earn my school holidays. And you all, mums and dads, and anyone under the morning drill, too!

Interesting. Not sure how old your children are. But by 2nd grade I was responsible for getting myself to and from school. Mum would pack a reslly basic lunch for me, a piece of fruit, a jelly cup, sandwich and a snack bar.
If I was late it was because I wanted to watch TV.
