Shouldn’t they be suing LaGuardia? Air Canada did as they were instructed and two of its pilots are dead

Why ? Its a airport error not Air Canada.

Air Canada bears almost no responsibility at all for this. Sue the NY Port Authority, they caused the accident.

For everyone asking why they would sue Air Canada. The international agreement is that Air Canada is responsible for injuries. Even if they’re not apparently. From the article:
>He says an international agreement that standardizes compensation holds airlines liable for death or bodily injury.
>Lukacs says that under the 1999 Montreal Convention injured passengers could each be compensated up to nearly $300,000.

Can Air Canada sue the Airport?

“up to nearly”? That’s some breathless journalism there.

Does the brain-dead advocate group even understand how air traffic is directed?
That’s rhetorical by the way.

What did Air Canada do wrong? Are they going to argue Air Canada did not break the laws of physics?
The ATC controller “messed up” as per their own admission.

Wouldn’t they have to sue Jazz Aviation?
Topazpm20 on
I guess it’s for Air Canada’s insurers to go after the LaGuardia authority or FAA, as It’s going to be a major settlement, not just one person. Same as the any insurers of the primary insured pay the compensation, then go after those who caused the incident.

Already saw an ad on Instagram yesterday from some NY Law firm looking for passengers to sue. Absolute parasites. The comments on their ad did not disappoint however.Â

Usa pulled this on a Canadian plane , what’s next

This is one of those situations where they’d be suing the company that lost the most, and the people who need the money most (families of pilots) would get nothing.
Air Canada did nothing wrong here. Also, until these costs are borne by the entities that are causing the shortage in ATCs, things won’t change. Think about it – $300K per passenger… that would pay the salaries of 10 ATCs for 10+ years.

$600K if they sue in both official languages.

Maybe start with FAA and LGA before we go full domestic on this one? Geezus.Â

And the Airline can sue LaGuardia for a lot as well. This is how these things work.

Ah, but the real question: Will they have to file the suit in French?

Air Canada should sue Trump for destroying the integrity of the FAA. That crash was ultimately his fault.

For the x amount of times that Air Canada f*cks over a passenger
They deserve to get sued
It’s karma because they’ve gamed the system for long

What did air Canada do to cause this?

I would because the states are trying to blame the pilots for the accident??

Not certain AC is at fault here. Airplanes have the right of way on the tarmac, maybe diffrent for firetruck but that plane was committed to its maneuver.

They would sue airline and the airline would sue the airport but also the federal US governement FAA, department of transportation.

This’ll keep making lawyers buy new Bimmers and Mercedes for a few years and passengers will eventually get pennies on the dollar.

Sue Air Canada for what? The pilots did everything correctly. Sue the firetruck that didn’t stop and resulted in the crash, if anyone.
