The $12 billion aid to American Farmers is to help them for the losses they suffered last year due to Trump policies, especially the illegal tariffs. This amount does not cover all the losses farmers had in 2025. The reason for the losses are: 1. Trade Disruptions, particularly from China, where China stopped buying American products (soy, etc.) due to the illegal tariffs the president put on Chinese imports. 2. Higher operating costs, machinery, fuel, fertilizer primarily due to Tump’s tariffs. So bottom line is that Trump creates a problem and then provides a partial solution.

Farm bankruptcies also increased by 46 percent year-over-year in 2025, according to data released last month by the American Farm Bureau Federation, one of the industry’s most influential lobbying groups.
