Why Trump let Russia send over 700,000 barrels of oil to Cuba. From the perspective of trying to understand Trump’s foreign policy, as he simultaneously lifts sanctions on both Russian and Iranian oil, it sure seems like he has no idea what he’s doing.

He knows that he can hop on his “I am the only Truth” platform, and move markets up or down by 5-10% with a singular wall of caps-lock text. He is also, through the government, effectively suing himself (the taxpayers) for $10B

He thinks bending to Putin’s demands is “negotiating”. He’s an idiot who has no understand how the world works.
He’s trying to appeal to his religious nutcase base and his disgruntled intelligence worker base with an attack on Iran. He is also attempting to rebuild American industry on resources we have internally (oil and coal) and from there try to drive manufacturing through a deliberately obliterated dollar. On top of that, he is dying, probably of senile amyloidosis or something else affecting his heart. He may have been sex trafficking women from Eastern Europe and Russia through his Universe Pageants and got a little pimpier than he should have, and he has to cover that up with distractions. Finally, he is a narcissist and wants to do great things and leave great monuments to his greatness in his own image. And he wants them build these monuments where the world’s most wealthy will reside.
To achieve these goals, he needs to be respected by bullies, make room for a new empire in the middle east, avoid being exposed for his sex trafficking crimes, prevent a worldwide recession that will terminate US stabilization under the new dollar, be beloved by ignorant workers, get it all done before the midterms and rapid neurological decline sets in, and do so under the burden of a severe personality disorder.
Everything will be fine. This is fine.
If we start losing a lot of our military in Iran and we lose petrodollar hegemony and we leave NATO, Trump is a certainly a Russian asset.
