A friend of a friend has been stuck on position for like two or three months now. He befriended some cats who keep him company. I got this picture of one today, and I can't get enough of it. He said I could share it with you. Don't you just wanna hug it? I do.
So!
April was a freakishly slow month. We went three entire days without a single request, which sounds like "Yeah? And?" until you realize that we usually get a dozen or more a day. It was downright weird.
April was slow, but it wasn't dead. Here's some of the good stuff you did, plus the April breakdown.
To quickly recap:
"Overhead" is a storage unit, a PO box, web hosting, mail service, and a bloody Twitter subscription because I need more than 280 characters. It's about $400 a month.
"Quality of life" is little QOL boosters like hydration packets, vitamins, and drone-droppable foods. Okay, fine, and candy.
"Services" is mostly Starlink subscriptions, plus a pittance of a rent for one team's safehouse.
"Not UFL" is money raised for projects we do with our partners, like Protect A Volunteer and u/PaigeInKansas4UA.
You can see some of what you did in April in the carousel above. Other highlights include:
- A sleeping bag for a soldier in the 81st beause his was lost when his shelter burned
- 11 IFAK pouches for 24th Separate Assault Battalion Aidar–kind of fun to see a name from the old ATO days again
- Cartridge belts (just the belts, no cartridges) for an SOF unit that deployed unexpectedly and needed them in a hurry
- Tools and equipment to outfit a new drone lab (unit TBA–we know who it is, of course, but I don't know if their new lab can go public yet)
We're still hoping to raise the rest of the 82nd's last car payment (€1500/$1800), plus the remainder of a new car for a GUR unit (about $2K). And I'm going to be doing another mule run in three months, oh boy.
