How to save money with the Inflation Reduction Act before Trump is in charge. For the past two years, consumers have been able to claim incentives for EVs, heat pumps and more. Trump has pledged to “terminate” the benefits. Here’s how to take advantage of tax credits and rebates before it’s too late

  1. Pretty surenthey actually have to repeal or amend the law. With only 2 votes in the House I’d be surprised if they get it done. Not sure Trump can just remove these subsidies unilaterally

  2. Most people I’ve talked to haven’t even heard of this. Or I should say they’ve heard about the EV tax credit but nothing about the home energy upgrade tax credits and rebates. You can get up to $14,000 to upgrade to electric heating and cooking, improve insulation, upgrade your electrical service panel, install an EV charger and more. There’s also a 30 percent tax credit for rooftop solar and battery storage. But hurry. Trump and his Republican toadies have vowed to mess with this and make things more expensive for you.

  3. I’ve tried to make solar panels work financially with incentives. Just doesn’t pen out. Utilities seem to have corrupt politicians in their back pocket. I think in CA the lastest utility plan just killed solar for many.

That’s the real story on solar, buts it’s ignored by media/others

  4. Even with rebates it is still expensive. You will get a percentage off of your taxes. Its not like you get any cash, you get a tax credit.

How do you save money? Don’t vote for the democrats and act like inflation wasn’t caused by them only for them to blame it on the conservatives

  6. “Here’s how to abuse governmemt subsidies to increase our national debt before the spigot of free money gets shut off.”

  7. Guess I’d better lock in the power wall purchase before the credits go away, but stupid back orders

I managed to get the Heat Pump, EV, and Solar rebate locked in. Was trying for the wood stove rebate but ran into chimney issues. That one seems more popular with his rural base so I’m hoping it lasts a little longer.

  9. Just keeping score at home. Please let me know if I missed something. So far we got tarrifs that get passed along to consumers, mass deporting a large % of our work force which will cause shortages & higher prices, firing a large % of hard working government American workers, plus terminating benefits and tax credits for the people. Eliminating healthcare protections and the affordable care act, banning chicks with dicks from pretty much everything, reinstating muslim travel bans, and possibly leaving Nato and the paris climate agreement…. Awesome. What an amazing platform to run on and get elected on. Americans are soooo smart

  10. How is trump going to singlehandedly terminate funding passed by congress. He doesn’t have the votes to repeal it, red states and districts benefit from it too much and their majority is tiny.

Just don’t spend those EV dollars on a Tesla, please.

Mouthbreather Trump and Musk voters: this message is not for you. I know none of you can afford one.
