Trump is planning to crush the Canadian economy with tariffs and they can then become the 51st state. Per FOX news, Trump told Trudeau this directly while he was at Mar-a-lago.
As insane as that sounds, Canada has oil and other resources Trump probably wants to take.
Canada’s biggest export to the U.S. is heavy oil. How about we release the sanctions on Venezuela, lease heavy oil rigs there, and prioritize U.S.-exclusive future contracts? This could potentially drive prices down and reduce the American trade deficit with Canada.
