Why would they, if they keep drilling more and more not only will it be more expensive for them, but they’re actually shooting themselves in the foot. The more oil they produce, the lower the price they get per barrel. Trump is such an idiot, he can’t fathom this. It’s like speaking with a 4-year-old child.
It’s common sense, why would you produce more, to get less from the product in income.

I mean even with the cuts more aand more people are switching to renewables and thinking about going electric- so why should they? even if you believe climate change is a hoax why should oil companies overproduce for a fuel source on its way out at worst! or simply not getting new demand at best?

Thought I read that US oil derived from shale isn’t suitable for US refineries, so much of it is exported anyway?

Perhaps instead of drill baby drill it should be refineries retool to use what we get from are land.
