For 8 years we’ve been hearing about Tesla’s unassailable advantages in software and FSD.
The fact that BYD is at least at parity, and very likely now ahead of Tesla in autonomous driving is not just stunning, it was inconceivable until recently.
It means that Tesla has almost no future competitive advantage in its core auto market anymore.
And just because BYD is prohibited from US sales, it doesn’t mean they can’t license its tech to a US car manufacture.
Tesla keeps refusing to implement lidar, as such it isn’t going to take much to outdo its FSD.
