I work as sales consultant for energy software co and mainly contact people who go to events to book meetings with them. It works really well to build relationship. I use it for cold emailing and Linkedin DM mainly, and it works super well for cold calling when I manage to get the phone nb.
That's how I got the idea to develop this big database of contacts who are going to energy events with all their details: names, job title, company, linkedin, emails, event attended, website, … There is all type of profiles like traders, data analysts, procurement, sales, marketing, originators, CEOs, founders, and all.
I did a similar post a few months ago that gained some traction with a simple google sheets list. So I hired a developer and built a database app where you can filter and extract all the contacts you need.
