  1. A “pressing question”? No. The impending end of fossil fuels is self evident. This author didn’t dig very far.

  2. Fossil fuels are finite. They are a one time inheritance from the carboniferous that we are currently burning through as fast as we can dig it up and burn it. They are inherently a dead end.

It’s funny that the author talks about “resource consumption” as a risk for renewables but never thinks about resource consumption of fossil fuels (which are finite). The question is when we are switching and not if. Will it be in 25 years, 50 years or in 100?
