  1. The thing is, Elon has alienated what, 30, 40, 60, 75% of his target market (affluent urban/suburban liberals)? Sure Trump’s white house used car salesman pitch might have converted some MAGA folks but that really leaves “people who don’t care about politics but want a good EV” target market which surely can’t be that big?

    Then there is the issue of cratering used car values…

    Far less because they <are> using US labor for assembly (as are other EV credit models). ie ID4/EV6/Lightning, Which is a good thing. But still financially impacted because many parts are still manufactured out of country.

  3. Tesla can build all the cars they want. But if no one buys them there will be lots of electric cars just sitting around collecting dust.
