A (hopefully) educational post for you amongst the sea of politics on this subreddit. I present, Coal Gasification; a energy source that will be used in the decade ahead.

This is a good place to start if you don't understand why policy is shifting right now. Coal is an INCREDIBLE energy source and can be decarbonized to extract 'clean' energy from.

Humanity will not waste a resource that we have spent nearly 200 years developing industrially. It would be a fool's errand to not utilize all the tools we have at our disposal.

I do believe solar and wind exist to offset the necessary energy requirements that power this process; it's a large part of why the CleanTech movement even exists within the O&G industry.
