  1. Let him. Hell likely try and fire them anyway and will need to bring back the majority of who was fired regardless.

  2. He is choosing to do this by himself its not on democrats Republicans control every branch of government.

  3. >Trump: “we are going to cut a lot of the people that … we’re able to cut on a permanent basis.” … ″[I’d] rather not do that,”

If you’d rather not do that, then don’t. This isn’t like there’s anything forcing you to do this little Don. Plenty of precedent for the opposite in fact.

One can only conclude that you’re being an ass and intentionally inflicting pain if democrats don’t cave to your autocratic takeover.

So the choice is not having the workers work due to a shutdown [and causing the fascists problems] or not having the workers work because Trump is going to fire them?

Obviously Trump was already planning to fire them either way since he is incapable of not projecting every thing he plans.

  5. OK then!

Let make a list of all Gov’t employees and their salaries.

Sort that list by salary — highest to lowest.

When you do the firing, start at the top of the list.

  6. So the Epstein guy doesn’t care either way: either a deal is made or he thins the herd further.

  7. It’s no longer called “firing” or “riffed.” The correct term is now “DOGEd” as in I was DOGEd out of my job because of the government shutdown.

Look for him to blame Biden or the democrats when it’s a republican mess.

  8. Federal workers typically don’t get fired during a shutdown, they get furloughed … if anyone gets fired it’s not because of the shutdown it’s because trump wanted them fired

  9. vilified-moderate on

If he wanted to or could fire them, they would be fired by now. DOGE already cut 100zillion to save 20$ and do 90 billion in long term damage. Shut it down, crash this fake economy and let the rich feel it too.

  10. In general, Republicans have historically had no problem with a scorched Earth, burn it all down style of governing. The Democrats lose because they are unwilling to cause so much harm. It’s time to say fuck it. Shut it down. Let Republicans own it.

  11. He’s already fired all of the people he could. Furthermore, avoiding a shutdown won’t stop more firings.

  12. Okay. Does he not realize he will be blamed for burning the government down as a result of a tantrum? His decision seems to imply that democrats will suffer. If he openly brags about burning the government to the ground if he doesn’t get his way, he will politically own it and the gops already low numbers in upcoming midterms will tank even further.

I’ve seen this with narcissists before in my family. If they don’t get what they want, they will escalate and threaten to do something 10x as bad to get what they want. People in the beginning give in realizing they are insane.

But after a while, people just realize there is nothing they can do so they just let them.

If Trump is going to burn the home down because he isn’t being served breakfast first in the morning, that’s something he will own.

    This is a tantrum
