Protecting pedophiles seems to be the highest priority of Republican politics. It drives everything.

  2. Any single person who places blame on democrats for anything related to “obstruction” needs to point to this immediately.

  3. THIS alone should tell you everything you need to know about the Epstein situation. Although I do realize that most MAGA voters don’t care that Trump is a pedophile, their lack of moral courage will haunt them forever.

This is an important lesson to people like Hakeen Jeffries who think they can sit down and wait until voters give them power back in 2026: the party you are pitted against doesn’t give two shits about your legitimate claim to power. They’ll do everything they can to undermine and outright stop you from getting into power.

  5. If only they put as much effort into governing the country as they do covering up for pedophile rapists.

  6. It was projection as always ..they were against covert government control, they *wanted* a Deep State, so they invent a Lefty version to rail against so there’s is approved. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Man, I bet VPOTUS is pissed about this, considering what he said just last month:

    >We know that Jeffrey Epstein had a lot connections with left-wing politicians and left-wing billionaires … Democrat billionaires and Democrat political leaders went to Epstein island all the time. Who knows what they did.

    – J.D. Vance, August 2025

  8. If they can do it here they’ll find a way to do it if Dems win during the next election. This is just a taste of what is to come

Does that mean the people of Arizona don’t have to pay federal taxes anymore? No taxation without representation right?

Or is that all out the window now

  10. Completely expected behavior by Republicans. Heck, here in Texas it’s been over half a year since one of our reps from Houston passed away and there still hasn’t been a special election to replace him. Governor Abbott, a well-known Trump follower and sycophant, finally scheduled the special election for November, making it eight months between Sylvester’s death and the election for his replacement. I have no doubts they’ll delay the swearing in of his replacement until next year using the same kinds of excuses they’re using here. That’s three-quarters of a million Texans that have had representation denied them in the US Congress for the better part of a year so far.

  11. People who violate the social contract should not expect to benefit from it. But that is the bet that MAGA is making – that folks will be so disregulated that they won’t think clearly enough to see this. They keep violating the social contract by not adhering to the laws and order of our government, to see how long they will benefit from those same contracts. If you are intolerant of others you should not expect people to be tolerant of you. Yet, they continue to be tolerated. If you do not extend grace to others you should not expect grace to be extended to you. Yet, they continue to receive grace they are not giving. They are seeing how far they can abuse the social contract knowing that most people highly value adhering to the rules. They expect everyone else to continue to follow them, even as they don’t. And when they are called out on it, they remind everyone of the social contract that should be followed, distracting everyone from the fact that they themselves are not adhering to it.

How long will they be allowed to do this?

  12. The Democrats should offer to pass the funding package if they release the Epstein files. Let’s see what happens.

  13. Wrong_Confection1090 on

I told you guys. There is no way they’re ever going to let the Epstein files out. Not while Trump lives.

  14. I keep forgetting that to Republicans, swearing an oath on the Bible to uphold the Constitution is just another meaningless act, and that their only loyalty is to Mango Mussolini.

  15. Conscious_Problem924 on

Call me crazy, I think they’re shutting this down to delay the release of the files as long as possible.

  16. She should just act like a rep, because she is one. She was elected. Swearing her in is just a ceremony.

  17. Even_Establishment95 on

Man. The state of the country is just terrifying and maddening. Everywhere. On the radio, Spotify ads, Instagram. The lines about Democrats “funding healthcare for illegals” are repeated ad nauseum. “Illegals this” and “illegals that.” The dehumanization is in full force and really hard to avoid. And the red hats are repeating it verbatim. I am trying to raise a four year old in this minefield. I don’t want him to grow up and be a hateful racist person. I want a good life for every person. I don’t care what you do, I focus on myself and being a good person. I just wish more people would.

  18. Those voters pay taxes; denying their representative’s voice is taxation without representation.

We used to have an issue with that.

  19. The new, legally elected representative of their citizens should just show up to work. The swearing in is an agreed upon formality, and if both parties are no longer in agreement over formalities, then the representative can just show up and take a seat in the empty chair. Make them try and kick them out!
