Though the cost of making an impotent, orange geriatric feel young and tough is priceless. /s

  2. Imagine coming all the way here to hear about women in the military and weight problems. Not how drones, climate change, energy, the affect of Trump’s BS on NATO, the rising alliances of NK, India, Russia and China or the need for space capabilities. No it was about how you should look like shit in the movies.

    So… I have a very important question.

If top brass military commanders were so willing to speak anonymously to reporters and if we, as a nation and as a people, are expected to “do something” about Donald Trump, how can the ordinary, Everyday Joe be expected to “rise up” and protest, call our legislators and do everything it takes to make the country safer from Trump and his cronies if these military officials won’t lend their name to their statements?

I get that they are in careers and what they stand to lose.

Americans stand to lose everything too, if they fight back–their freedom, their jobs, their marriages and families. Possibly their lives.

Either people need to start standing up or cave and we’ve lost our democracy. But standing up doesn’t start and end with the American people. It begins with our leaders. Of which we have very few honorable, patriotic ones, it seems.

  5. Lots of great quotes from people in the room. I hope whoever has been talking has their comms locked down, but maybe at this point they don’t care about getting fired. Understandable given they’re expected to follow the orders of these two imbeciles.

This was a power play. Hegseth was effectively telling the military brass what kind of “leadership” they can expect from him as Secretary of Defense. The point of this meeting wasn’t the substance of what he was saying, it was the message that “You are all under my command, and will do as I (or Trump) say.” The fact that it was dangerous and an obscene waste of money was part of the delivery of that message.

  7. Trump wants to train “his military on the streets of the United States. He just wants to take over everything…he is a fucking dictator. When he goes for the Republicans…there won’t be anyone left to say no…Then he will control everything and everyone…just like his Master Putin and Kim Jong Un.

  8. A thought for the poor guys who’ve gonna have to come back to their military installations in allies countries and cross eyes with their counterparts from all over the world.

    “… yeah.”

  9. the one positive i can see from this meeting is that all of the top military commanders got to see for themselves what their leadership looks like and accordingly, if they ever get an order to nuke some country or LA/NYC, they can make a fully informed decision on whether or not to carry it out.

Yes, the logistics would have been highly complicated and expensive. This mandatory off site also would have interfered with U.S. combatant commands. Finally, this demand that all of these flag rank officers (generals and admirals) travel to Quantico would have had counterterrorism and counterintelligence ramifications.

  11. Everyone in the room, except Hegseth and Trump (and perhaps some of their political assistants) knew the danger full well. A single attack, with a single weapon, could decapitate the whole military force of the United States.

  12. Iran could have bombed that room and took out our entire military leadership. Kegsbreath took this risk so he could ramble about how much he hates women and wants to force them out of military leadership. What a fucking joke.

  13. I’m half convinced that the purpose of this was to allow Russian intel to observe where each of our important military leaders is stationed.

  14. Quick, someone tell DOGE about this blatant fiscal irresponsibility so they can fire more park rangers and doctors in retaliation.

  15. the most expensive and stupid ‘should’ve been an email’ meeting ever. I wonder if the content was changed, that a ‘loyalty pledge’ was envisioned but removed and turned into this shitshow of stupidity.

  16. They did us all a favor. Exposed themselves as the frauds they are. I’m a lot less concerned about “just following orders” than I was yesterday.
