It is remarkable how suffering significant brain damage will push a former liberal favorite towards being a reliable right wing advocate.

If it quacks like a republican and walks like a republican, it must be a republican.

  3. I don’t like demonizing stroke victims, they are victims of no fault of their own, but Fetterman’s brain broke and is unfit for his office. I see no other cause for his political aboutface.

I supported this jagoff. Campaigned for him, donated a bit. And now this. He really does need to resign. I’m worried that I misjudged him all along. But to me he seemed like the real deal. In a way, I, hoping it was the stroke and not my poor reading of people.

Fettermen seems to have lost much of his prior convictions since his stroke… it is almost certainly going to cost him if he runs for re-election. It’s sad, considering how hard he fought for his seat and to retain it after a medical crisis, but he is most assuredly **NOT** the same man PA elected to that seat.

His primary challenge is going to be interesting to watch. In the likely event he loses, will he pull a Cuomo and run as an Independent?

  8. If you ever wonder how this schlub won, his opponent was Doctor Oz

Also terrifying, Dr Oz now is the administrator for Medicare.

Pennsylvania… get it together, you’re embarrassing

Brain damage can do that to a person, which isn’t exactly an endorsement for conservatism

He needs to be primaried, because he no longer represents the voters that elected him.

  10. I’m happy to hear someone on the same team finally call it how it is. Though, I’d expect someone representing Philly to do it in more Philly like style and language, but I’ll take what I can get.

As a Pennsylvanian who voted for Connor Lamb in the 2022 primary, I feel so vindicated.

I’ve been skeptical of Fetterman since a [2011 New York Times feature](https://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/13/magazine/13Fetterman-t.html?unlocked_article_code=1.qE8.LnO9.ydRlxCjACHtg&smid=url-share) on him that showed the ambivalence that a lot of residents of Braddock, the majority-Black town where he made his name as mayor, felt toward him.

And of course there was the [gun episode](https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/john-fetterman-black-jogger-2013-shotgun-20220425.html) that was so brushed aside during his run for Senate.

The stroke made things worse. But he has always been a bit of an egomaniac and too wedded to the idea of being an iconoclast.
